The Architects Regional Council of Asia (ARCASIA) this year awarded Vo Trong Nghia Architects’ project the ARCASIA Award for Architecture (AAA).
Dalai Bamboo Complex won The Gold Medal in the Resort Building category as well as the highest honor “Bulding of the Year”, which is the winning prize of all Gold Medals of AAA.
Dailai Bamboo Complex consists of two bamboo structure buildings; “Bamboo Wing (Restaurant)” and “Dailai Conference Hall (Conference Hall)” with different character. The two buildings are located at the entrance of the Flamingo Dailai Resort which is a nature – friendly weekend rerost, situated in the middle of flourishing forests between Dailai Lake and the surrounding mountains, about 50km away from Hanoi.
The complex shows the concept of the resort clearly and therefore received high appreciation from the jury.
ARCASIA(ARCHITECTS REGIONAL COUNCIL OF ASIA) is an organization of eighteen National Institutes of Architects from the Asian region extending from Pakistan in the West to Philippines in the East, Peoples Republic of China in the North to Indonesia in the South.
The aim of the ARCASIA AWARDS FOR ARCHITECTURES (AAA) is to acknowledge exemplary architectural works and, in doing so, to encourage the sustenance of the Asian spirit, the development and improvement of the Asian built environment and enhancement of the awareness of the role of architects in the socio-economic and cultural life of Asian countries.
The ARCASIA Award also intends to demonstrate that good architecture is a major component of the positive influence on the human environment, and that physical development in Asia doesn’t need to be in disharmony with the cultural values, national identity or the natural environment of developing countries in Asia.
